Then, turn off the engine in your vehicle and leave the key fob inside. When you've left, shut all the doors. This will activate the system's antennae, and your hazard lights will flash to confirm that you're locked inside.

When you're ready to return to the vehicle then press the tailgate release button to activate your antennae once more. This will activate the activity key that allows you to lock or unlock your vehicle. The hazard lights on your vehicle will flash again as confirmation that your smart fob has been disabled until your return.

The process is fast and easy, but it's important that you remember that the Activity Key is engaged for only 30 seconds while you're locking your vehicle. It won't work effectively if you wait too long.
